Plastic Processor Packaging

Plastic processor packaging methods can produce sustainable products. There are a few different methods for which to process plastic and those methods are: machining, compression molding, transfer molding, injection molding, extrusion, rotational molding, blow molding, thermoforming, casting, forging, and foam molding. Below we we go over some of these methods briefly.

Injection Molding

Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts by injecting material into a mold. This is the main method for processing plastics.

Reaction Injection Molding

This is a relatively new plastic process and is similar to injection molding. However, unlike traditional injection molding, reaction injection molding always uses lightweight, cost-efficient thermosetting polymers. Which leads to a more sustainable process.

Blow Molding

Manufacturers use blow molding when the plastic item needs to be hollow. Compressed air blows up a tube and forces it to conform to the chilled mold, thus creating a molten tube.

Extrusion

During extrusion, plastic granules or pellets are fluidized, homogenized, and continuously formed. Typically, one uses this method to make tubing, pipes, sheets, films, coat wires and cables.

Compression Molding

This process squeezes the material is squeezed into its desired shape. It does this with the help of pressure and heat. Then there is the addition of plastic molding powder and other materials to the mix, which creates special qualities or strengthens the final product.

Transfer Molding

Typically, transfer molding is used only for forming thermosetting plastics. It is an adaptation of compression molding, since the molding powder or preform is charged to a separate pre-heating chamber and, when appropriately fluidized, injected into a closed mold.

Thermoforming

During this manufacturing process, heat the plastic sheet to a manageable forming temperature. Then form to a specific part shape in a mold and subsequently trim it to create a usable product.

Plastic Recycling Process

Plastic recycling is the process of recovering waste plastic and reprocessing the bulk material into useful finished and semi-finished products. The process of plastic recycling has become more advanced and efficient in recent years and we are proud to partner with manufacturers who fully utilize these powers. The plastic recycling process is an alternative to reduce waste. It is also an economically viable option for producing new products. The recycling of plastics involves collecting, sorting, washing, resizing, separation, extrusion, pelleting and manufacture processes.
